It’s hard to believe that Mercedes-Benz started with two young boys who had a shared fascination with machines, although they never met! Carl Benz built a motorized tricycle back in 1886; meanwhile Gottlieb Daimler was working on what he called a “horseless carriage”. The two men built up their own companies which eventually merged, following the death of Gottlieb Daimler, to become the Mercedes-Benz we know today. Mercedes boasts a glittering 125 year history, having become a hallmark for precision engineering, luxury and innovation. March 2011 saw the launch of the CLS-Class and heralded the dawning of a new era of stylish design for Mercedes-Benz cars. Along with the new C-Class Coupe, SLK and SLS AMG Roadster, there is an exciting new generation of innovation to enjoy.
