It’s hard to believe that Mercedes-Benz started with two young boys who had a shared fascination with machines, although they never met! Carl Benz built a motorized tricycle back in 1886, meanwhile Gottlieb Daimler was working on what he called a “horseless carriage”. The two men built up their own companies which eventually merged, following the death of Gottlieb Daimler, to become the Mercedes-Benz we know today. Mercedes has become a hallmark for precision engineering, luxury and innovation. Currently Mercedes is focusing on the environment with cars like the forthcoming 2010 S400 Hybrid Sedan uses a lithium-ion battery to reduce fuel consumption.
