How does a bench polisher work?
A bench polisher works very much like a bench grinder in the sense that it works by using a coarse and finer wheel that have a gritty element on. These wheels rotate and when the material is moved over them the friction causes the material to be polished.
Simply place the material that you wish to shine against the bench polisher at an angle and carefully move it across the wheel. This can cause sparks, so it’s recommended that you have the right protective eyewear and gloves when working with this machinery. Keep the material moving to stop it from overheating – you might want to invest in a bench grinder polishing wheel kit and bench polisher stand for different sized projects and also to keep it safely stored when not in use.
Bench grinder and polisher uses
In combination with a bench grinder, the bench polisher works wonders when shaping and sharpening materials and tools. A bench grinder can also be used as a bench polisher with the right attachments. You will need to invest in a spindle attachment to extend and attach the necessary polishing tools for it to work properly.
Polish away any debris, rusts or tarnishes and be left with a smooth surface to work on.
