Gas struts for our Focus CC3 arrived within the week, and fitted in 5 mins. The difference they made was amazing.

Needed new gas struts/boot thingy's for my focus cc arrived within two days fitting was easy 5mins real easy but a bit of advice support boot lid there really heavy especially on a convertible. What a difference I've struggled for years just assuming I had a heavy lid until they finally gave up now I have to pull it down to close great product and service highly recommend

When I matched the new struts to the originals on our 2007 Focus CC3 they looked slightly different with mental heads and a removable pin. As they were a tight fit I rang SGS who explained where possible they preferred to use plastic sockets compared to plastic. A quick tap with a rubber hammer replace the pins and job done - less than 5 minutes. Only time will tell but it appears I now have a better part than the original, great service, support and product.

Fitted these to my Focus CC boot and straight away you can tell they are well made. The boot opens much more easily now, and when it is nearly fully open it slows down a little to just open it fully for another inch or so.
Only time will tell if they will last for a long time, but i am very confident that they will.

A very sudden 'heavy boot' suggested that one (both) of the gas struts on my Focus CC had failed. A quick google found SGS engineering. Their price was significantly better than the Ford price, delivery was quick (next day).

I was amazed how easy it was to replace both struts - prop the boot open with something, use a screwdriver to loosen the retaining ring and pop off each end of the strut. The new one simply clipped into place - took about 1 minute for each side (Took far, far longer to find something suitable to prop the boot open with!).

The boot now closes more softly than I ever remember, even when new, and it will 'stay' in positions other than totally upright, which the old struts never managed.

Very, very impressed with these for the price - far better than the originals as far as I can tell.
