Axle Stands

Engine Cranes
Engine cranes (sometimes known as engine hoists) are commonly used in garages to remove or install a vehicles engines. These engine hoists works using hydraulic cylinders. It uses a heavy beams as a support structure to hold the engine mid-air so you can carefully connect or disconnect fragile hoses and wires on the engine to the frame of the vehicle. Engine Stands
An engine stand is used in conjunction with engines cranes, to assist in the repair of large engines. While small single piston engines can usually be laid on top of a table or hard surface that you have available in the garage, a large engine needs to be supported from it's engine mounts. meaning fragile components such as oil pans and valve covers will be crushed if large engines are places on a flat surface.
