SGS Local Hero Awards 2023 is Open for Entries

WHICH GENEROUS TRADESPERSON WILL SUCCEED JAMES ANDERSON OF DEPHER AND WIN A CASH PRIZE WORTH £1,000?

In our first two editions of the Local Hero Awards, we have been proud to shine a light on some of the kindest and most generous tradespeople in the country – so it made sense to come back again for a third edition.

This is your call to nominate a generous tradesperson for their chance to be rewarded!

Our current champion is James Anderson of Depher – his community plumbing work has touched the hearts of so many that he has received donations from movie star Hugh Grant and appeared on Good Morning Britain to speak about his work.

Our first champion was Graham Nash of Pinnacle Builders, who used his own time and resources to correct the shoddy work of cowboy builders for free, to help people in need.

As both winners were so worthy, we’re excited to hear how tradespeople have been helping their communities further in 2023!

As a supplier of air compressors, gas struts, tool chests, power tools, garage equipment, garden tools, we know how hard tradespeople work – and we are keen to continue rewarding tradies up and down the land.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The criteria for the awards is simple – if a tradesperson has helped you, or anyone you know, you can nominate them for the award.

Previous examples of tradespeople shortlisted include:

  • A builder taking isolated elderly people out for a fish supper to keep them company
  • A roofer offering free emergency repair work for NHS workers during the height of the pandemic
  • A female plasterer fixing the walls of domestic abuse survivors for free
  • A handyman always available for a chat or to complete free jobs for any vulnerable or lonely customers

We’re always looking for new heart-warming stories, so if you know anyone who deserves the acclaim, nominate them!

If the tradesperson you nominated are shortlisted and win the public vote, they’ll win a £1000 cash prize as a deserved reward for their efforts! The regional winners will also claim a £250 cash prize.
