I have heard stories of (stupid) mechanics reversing cars into and over Snap-On Tool Chests with little to no damage to the chest (car totalled though), well this box wouldn’t withstand that kind of punishment although I don’t plan to Test it to find out.
The chest looks great and has lots of drawers to organise and secure all your expensive garage equipment (from the skint apprentice) so full marks there, without going into too much detail I’ll explain my experience with this chest after owning and using for a little over a year...
Affordable Price is its main selling point at around 1/8 the cost of a similar Snap-On version & Aesthetics it looks the business (sexy)
I’m not a fan of the Black Satin Finish, it looks great Brand New but marks up very easily after usage.
Drawer Handles - These should have been machined with the drawer itself however it is a separate piece of aluminium riveted onto the stainless steel drawer, because of this method it does not withstand much force before a rivet is popped and the handle is hanging off and needs repairing. Parts are available and it is repaired quite easily but it is annoying.
Weight - Although it is heavy it is still much lighter than the premium brand version which is a negative because it’ll have less metal in it which means it flexes a little when it’s moved and the sides feel quite hollow.
With all that in mind I don’t regret buying it because I have a lovely £3.5k still in my bank over if I had bought Snap-On.
Time will tell and do I think it was last 20 years of constant abuse..... Well just maybe!
PPS My personal prefeence I would have liked one more full length drawer.
