Which type of pliers are for me?
Pliers are a toolbox must-have. With so many shapes and sizes available, from needle nose pliers to curved jaw locking pliers, it can be tricky to figure out which ones will best suit your needs. To give you a little helping hand, here are some of the uses for different types of pliers:
- Long nose pliers (otherwise known as needle nose pliers) are ideal for grasping, bending and cutting wires. Thanks to the slim shape of the nose, they offer extended reach which is ideal for tight, small spaces.
- Diagonal cutting pliers are ideal for cutting fence wire and other materials thanks to the optimized blade angle and hardened jaws.
- Round nose pliers are best characterised by their rounded jaws. They are commonly used by electricians to create loops in wire. Also, many of our round nose pliers feature hardened cutting edges, making them suitable for cutting hard, tough materials.
- Jaw locking pliers give the user improved grip, as well as providing maximum pressure points for any nut, bot or locking tool.
Most of these pliers have dual-application use, so you can cut wires, rubber and plastic tubing with ease. If you’re unsure what type you require, contact our sales support team today on 01332 576 850.
